Spectacular Cliffs of Moher Engagement Photoshoot

Updated on 27th January 2023

If you decide to book a Cliffs of Moher engagement photoshoot, it will undoubtedly be a highlight of your trip to Ireland.

Standing at 214m tall, the completely vertical cliffs in the West of Ireland are right on the edge of Europe. With views across the churning Atlantic Ocean as far as the Aran islands, the next stop is America.

The cliffs are the place to see breathtaking sunsets in all shades of oranges and reds. A trip here will shock the senses in every way imaginable. Killer views paired with a strong sea-breeze and delightful fresh ocean smell. The constant crash of waves bashing against the jagged cliff face all makes it all a pretty epic experience.

The wave that breaks at the bottom of the giant cliffs is known as Aileens (A common Irish woman’s name) derived from the Irish translation of Cliffs of Moher – Ailltreacha Mothair. If you are lucky and the weather plays ball on your trip, you may even see the local surfers dropping down giant masses of water.

The Cliffs of Moher is one of the most spectacular places you can have a couples photoshoot in Ireland.

Erin & Carley travelled from the United States and got engaged in Ireland. After a romantic proposal, they booked a Cliffs of Moher engagement photoshoot with me.

I took them to one of my favourite parts of the cliffs, away from any other tourists.

The weather was wild! There was a strong westerly wind, scattered rain and the most beautiful moody sky. The wild weather didn’t discourage Erin and Carley, they got right into the middle of it, held on tight to each other and we ended up having so much fun.

After the epic experience on the cliffs, it was time for delicious food and drinks at McGanns pub in Doolin.

This is what Erin had to say about their Cliffs of Moher engagement session.

“Shauna is top-notch! I booked a couples adventure photoshoot for my fiancé and I, who travelled to Ireland from the U.S. Shauna was so helpful and genuinely thoughtful through all of the planning. We got engaged two days before our photoshoot and she was so kind as to recommend restaurants in the area we were staying at the time. On the day of the shoot, she stuck with us through the wind (it was absolutely wild!) and the rain and was so calm, dynamic and affirming the whole shoot. My partner was a little nervous about having her photo taken, but she said within minutes Shauna made her feel at ease and enjoy the experience. She knows the best locations and her photos had my partner and me gasping because they were so dang beautiful! We are so glad we booked with Wild and Green and for the memories captured and made during our shoot. Thank you, Shauna! Can’t recommend enough!”

Along with engagement photoshoots, the Cliffs of Moher is also a really great place for surprise proposals! Chris got in touch with me to help him plan his proposal to his lovely girlfriend Channing. I showed him all the different options of beautiful viewpoints and pointed out the areas that would have the fewest tourists.

We planned a sunset shoot and it was nothing short of breathtaking! After an emotional proposal, we hiked around the cliffs to more viewpoints and watched the sun go down. They headed back to Doolin to celebrate.
